House in Grožnjan with Private Parking
The old stone house is in the lovely, quiet little mountain town of Grožnjan, which is also known as an art town due to its art galleries and music events.
The house is over 600 years old and is known as the “Old Smithy” (Stara Kovačnica). It is under heritage protection and has been restored lovingly by the owner family, preserving its charm. The house fitted with heating provides 135m² of living space, comprising two living rooms, three bedrooms, two bathrooms and a fully-equipped kitchen. The furnishing is elegant, but nevertheless comfortable. Paintings, old wooden furniture, and the typical ceiling beams create an atmosphere that will make you feel at home. The ground floor has a living room, a room with a sofa bed (ca. 140 x 195cm), a WC, a shower room and a bathroom with a WC. The first floor has a spacious living room with a fireplace, a seating group and a dining table. The bedrooms are on this floor and each have a double bed (160 x 200cm), whereby the second also has a single bed (80 x 200cm). The heatable conservatory provides a table and chairs. Free Internet access is available.
A special gem of the house is the terrace with a brick-built outdoor kitchen and a grill. It also has a big dining table with chairs for the whole family. You can see the sea on the horizon from the garden. The house has a parking space for your car. You can bring a pet, but note that the site is not fenced.
Grožnjan is famous worldwide for its jazz festivals, many music and art events and many art galleries (more than 40). The town is characterised by forests, fruit and olive trees and vineyards. You can go shopping nearby and enjoy local gastronomy in cafés, restaurants or wine cellars. There are many villages and little towns in the area that are worth a visit, or you can go to the Postojna caves and see the Lipizzan horses in Lipizza. You could spend the day on the Istrian beaches, just 12km away (Kanegra, Savudrija, Umag, Sveti Ivan, Novigrad). The most important cultural events in the region are the annual film festivals and the truffle festival during the autumn season. The cycle path running on an old stretch of the Parenzana railway through stone tunnels and preserved bridges is to be recommended for cycling enthusiasts. There are also a golf course, tennis courts, thermals baths and horse riding facilities in the wider area.
